Chris Eckert

Chris Eckert recently performed in the 2017 CBS Diversity Showcase and was head writer for the 2018 showcase. He’s a main company member of The Groundlings Theater. His TV credits include The Comeback, Super Fun Night, Doin’ It Yourself (pilot), and a guest-starring role on Raising Hope, which won the GLAAD Award for best episode, as well as numerous national commercials. Chris is a graduate of The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts. At The Groundlings, he has created and produced the sold-out You Paid To Die Tonight (an LA Weekly top pick), Gay Groundling (part of the 40th-anniversary celebration), and his current adventure, The GALE. Chris was born and raised in Hayward, California, which has not one but two BART stations. He’s the son of one-legged Marine veteran (see: Vietnam war) and a quaint little English woman (see: cucumber sandwiches). He’s also the middle child of three brothers (Daniel and Sean). Daniel is a captain in the Marines and Chris wears wigs for a living. Bold choices. He loves his family very much, as well as his North Hollywood roommates, his dog Davey, and you. Chris sometimes falls asleep to the Disney animated film ‘Mulan’ and has dreams of bringing honor to us all.
