Kazu Kusano

Japanese comedian, Kazu Kusano, shatters the stereotype of the demure Asian woman. Kazu moves like a child in a playground, and her silly, yet dark comedy makes everything laughable, from relationships to sexism, and even Nagasaki. Kazu's comedy help you to rethink the idea of race, gender, and nationality. San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts invited her to perform for their exhibition called The Identity Shifts which focused on the theme of, Women, Art & Politics. Kazu is the undefeated champion of Joke-E-Oke, the joke karaoke contest at the San Francisco Sketchfest and a finalist at a stand up comedy competition, Westside Showdown. Recently, she made her first international appearance at Asiafest in Adelaide, Australia. Currently Kazu resides in Los Angeles.
