Zach Sherwin

Zach Sherwin is a comedian, musician, and writer based in Los Angeles. Born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in southwest Missouri, Zach attended college at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. While there, he co-founded a sketch comedy troupe called the Late Night Players, with whom he continued performing after graduation. When the group disbanded, Zach became a solo act and quickly rose through the ranks of the alternative comedy scene in the Boston/Cambridge area. He began hosting Thursday nights at Harvard Square's legendary Comedy Studio, and was named Boston’s Best Comic by the Boston Phoenix in 2009, which was also the year he first performed at Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. He moved to LA in 2010.

Since then, Zach has performed musical comedy on "America's Got Talent" (NBC), "The Pete Holmes Show" (TBS), and "Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell" (FX). He has written for the Emmy-winning "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (The CW), “Problematic with Moshe Kasher” (Comedy Central), MAD Magazine, and all five seasons of the Emmy-nominated YouTube series “Epic Rap Battles of History,” which boasts over 14 million subscribers and 3 billion total series views. Zach has co-starred in ten of the battles, including "Albert Einstein vs. Stephen Hawking”; that video’s digital single is certified Gold by the RIAA. He is a multiple YouTube Streamy Award nominee and winner.

Zach's own music videos has been viewed millions of times on YouTube. He released his first album on Comedy Central Records in 2010, his second on Aspecialthing Records in 2015, and his third album independently in 2016. He has worked as the audience warm-up comic for "@midnight" (Comedy Central), "The Pete Holmes Show" (TBS), and "United Shades of America" (CNN), and his festival appearances include Montreal Just For Laughs, Chicago Just For Laughs, SF Sketchfest, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Women In Comedy Festival, and the Rooftop Aspen Comedy Festival. He is also the creator and host of The Crossword Show, a one-of-a-kind performance experience in which comedians solve a musical crossword puzzle live onstage in front of an audience.
